Class 4 Visit To The Trenches
Class 4, recently had the privilege of visiting The Veteran Centre in Newton Aycliffe, where they expressed their heartfelt gratitude to ex-servicemen and women for their bravery and courage in defending our country. The visit aimed to honour those who have served, aiding the children in understanding the significance of their sacrifices.
During this memorable outing, pupils presented the veterans with thank you cards, artwork, letters, and poetry, all of which were the result of a whole school effort designed to show appreciation. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed learning about the myriad of services The Veteran Centre provides, not only for veterans but also for members of the community. From woodwork and virtual reality sessions to art and modelling groups, the Centre fosters a sense of camaraderie and support.
The visit also included a stop at The Trenches café, where patrons can enjoy a variety of fresh, home-cooked meals at affordable prices.
