Sporting Activities

Curriculum

Classes have weekly P.E. lessons, led by staff or supported by outside agencies such as the Sedgefield School Sports Partnership.

Recently we have enjoyed, Fit for Life, Hula-Hooping, Gymnastics, Skipping, Thai- Boxing as well as other fitness programmes.

Lunchtime

During lunchtime choice we provide a wide range of sporting activities for the children to choose from including Football, Skipping, Jump Start Jonny and Kwik Cricket.

Representing the School

As well as all of this our children are coached and prepared for any up and coming competitions or festivals that we are going to be taking part in which are organised by The Sedgfield Schools Sport Partnership.

Active 30

The Active 30 Durham Campaign aims to help schools in County Durham to support every pupil to participate in 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity activity everyday at school – as recommended by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

As a school, we want our children to have the best start in life and physical activity plays a key part in physical, mental and emotional well-being and academic learning!

At this time school has achieved the Active 30 accreditation and we hope to maintain this going forward.
